FAQs
Questions that I get asked every now and then….
So how long have you been traveling?
Since 16th August for Europe. But I traveled one month in May in Philippines and one month in June in Vietnam.
How did you finance your whole trip?
Trust me that I did everything that is legitimate to pay for my own trip without anyone’s generosity. Besides, couchsurfing helps me cut down my cost by 50%.
So when are you finally going back to sg?
I will be back on the 6th Feb, want to meet me. Want to meet me, make an appointment. =p
What are you going to do when you get back to sg?
Work of course. I will be the poorest person around. But first, I need to get a job.
Are you ever going to work? You seem to be traveling since so long ago.
Of course, to be born in Singapore means I have to be slave to the workforce. Is part of reason my existence especially so in my motherland. Thank god, I managed to escape it for a short while after graduation.
Are you lonely traveling alone?
I get to meet different people everywhere I go, so I think I learn so much more about cultures, languages, lifestyles, and so much more. And thanks to couchsurfing, I get to know so much more people. Occasionally, I meet up with my friends in Europe too.
So where will you be during Xmas?
In Paris. A white Xmas this year…. And part of a trilogy to complete my 4th Disney Land during Xmas season for 3 years running.
So where will you be during New Year?
In Prague…I know so many people wants to go to this place, the least I could do is to be there for some party and to enjoy some great time for you guys. =p
Are you coming back for CNY?
Hell yes. How can I miss a chance to meet up with my dear relatives and friends… They are my REAL reason of my existence in this world.
Do you miss your parents?
Yes, definitely. Who wouldn’t miss the comfort of being at home, when you do not need to cook, wash, clean, and etc. But everything aside, I miss you so much Mummy!!!
Tell me something about Singapore…
Where is Singapore? Which part of China is Singapore from?
Singapore is a sunny city/island/small country which is just right below Malaysia, and if u strain your eyes a little, you can find a small red dot on the world map.
I heard that you will get fine if you spit chewing gum on the floor in Singapore?
Yes, but whatever goes from your hand down to the floor you get fined too. =) And for your information, chewing gums are not allowed to be sold in Singapore BY LAW. So if you can sneak it into Singapore, we are allowed to chew but dun get caught. =p
Tell me something interesting about Singapore.
Is the only country that hangs you for possession of 15g of heroine. Everything that is socially wrong that you do, you get fine. Littering gets you a SGD1000 fine. Oral sex is prohibited and illegal BY LAW.
Do you feel trapped in leaving in this country?
Actually, other than being a small country (which also means that it does not have a lot of interesting things to do, or you get to do all the same things over again), I think it has taught me really well to leave in this world. There are rules to everything you do. Rules are set for everyone to behave fairly and not abuse anything. However, being in such a controlled environment, one knows how to play around the rules. We have rules everyday, so we know when and how to bend the rules or go around the system, and that is when we are not in our country, we perform so much better, because of our ability to go around the system, and Asians by nature are very hardworking, so we can give a good fight to any westerners. =p
