Can you bite your nose?

Terminal

Back dating of entries.

My flight for LA from Mexico was held back due to bad weather, and I have to wait for 24hours in the airport for my next plane. It was something that I wished it didn't happened and yet then I was wishing that it did. Was hoping that I could try staying in the airport like that for like a while.

It was my kinda ideal settings, it is totally not like what you saw in Terminal where there are lotsa nice facilities. I was literally sleep sitting on a hard chair at the food court becoz the nite b4 i didnt sleep. But the adventure was kinda fun. I watch like 6-7 movies that is on my comp while waiting for my plane and guess what? I met Bianca, can you believe how small the world is. She was there to wait for his bf's arrival from Canada, however, the bf didnt arrive. So we were great companions for each other during our short stints in the airport.

The thing I wanna talk about is that I feel kinda weird when I was actually hoping deep inside me that I would miss this flight and experience this moment of staying in the airport. It isn't the most pleasing experience, but it is definitely something that I can look bad and think how crazie it was for the things that I did which I won't mention here. Part of it includes illegally walking in and out of the customs without the guards knowing. thats really funnie...

but thank god, I got to fly the next flight, if not, I would rather die in the airport as it was the one of the most boring airport ever.

Alma Mater

St Gabriel's Secondary takes aim at N levels – and scores well

Students from St Gabriel's Secondary are famed for being 'on the ball' on the soccer pitch. Now they have scored impressively in the Normal-stream examinations too.

The Straits Times, 19th Dec 2006, p 4

Well, unlike many, i dun come from the "top" or "elite" school. All this small little things counts, and it feels so great to see your school doing well after leaving the school for almost a decade.

Marketing

You go to a party and you see a sexy gal across the room.
You go up to her and say
"Hi, I'm great in bed, what about it?".
That's direct marketing.

You go to a party and you see a sexy gal across the room.
You give your friend ten dollars. He goes up and says
"Hi, my friend over there is great in bed, what about it?".
That's advertising.

You go to a party, you see a sexy gal across the room.
She comes over and says,
"Hi, I hear you're great in bed, what about it?"
Now that is the power of branding.

Doing for the sake of doing

Are there times that u feel that u are doing things for the sake of doing.

U noe, all of us have a choice in chosing what we want in life. We have a choice to commit ourselves in whatever we want. And yes, it is really true that we do have a choice.

And since we do have a choice in doing the things we want to do, then why are you complaining about every single little thing u do?

It is so ironic. U fight for something that u really want, and in the end, u make it sound as if it is so dreadful doing it. Sigh, whats wrong with u? If u really think is sux, den dun tke it up in the first place. There is no one forcing u at gunpoint.

This entry is not for anyone. Just in general. I juz feel that sometimes, humans are very weird beings. U get yourself involved and then u can't stop making a big fuss out from u. Dun do it for the sake of doing. Dun do it bcoz everione is doing it. Do it, bcoz u want it. Do it, bcoz u like it. Do it, bcoz feel strongly for it.

Period.

Hands To Heaven Lyrics - Breathe

As I watch you move, across the moonlit room
There's so much tenderness in your loving
Tomorrow I must leave, the dawn knows no reprieve
God give me strength when I am leaving...

So raise your hands to heaven and pray
That we'll be back together someday

Tonight, I need your sweet caress
Hold me in the darkness
Tonight, you calm my restlessness
You relieve my sadness

As we move to embrace, tears run down your face
I whisper words of love, so softly
I can't believe this pain, it's driving me insane
Without your touch, life will be lonely

So raise your hands to heaven and pray
That we'll be back together someday

Tonight, I need your sweet caress
Hold me in the darkness
Tonight, you calm my restlessness
You relieve my sadness

Morning has come, another day
I must pack my bags and say goodbye...

~~~Happy Birthday Gloria~~~
Running after the sun...
I remb when I was in NZ, we were driving westwards, and the sun was setting, so it was like a scene as if we were chasing the sun. And in NZ, the sun take a few hours to set, so we were like literally chasing the sun bcoz our route home is like 8 hours, even after the sun is gone, u are like chasing the sunset light. That scene is just so wonderful.
This chasing the sun feeling is so real now to me...
Have u ever felt that u fought the hardest battle in your life, and at the end of the day, u dun find meaning in doing it. Hmmmph, i kinda feel like this in a way. A feeling of emptiness, hard to describe. I just find end up in a dead end whenever I start to think of things. N i think with this, I changed alot. Well, both physically and personALLY.
Maybe what I experienced really change me. But I didnt really experience anything drastic, what wld it be? Maybe I'm just too long from home, but I dun reallie feel homesick. Maybe I'm just lonely, but I allwaiz have frenz ard me...so what changed? Hard to describe, how to realize to. Maybe is just my 1/4 life crisis. In need to find who i really am and what is my main purpose on planet earth.
Maybe I'm just thinking too much. Thats the both gd/bad thing abt me, think too much. lol.
But as of now, i really really want to find my passion back...passion about life in general. I'm sure it is somewhere nea. The sun will rise tomorrow, and I will continue chasing the sun till I finally get hold of it. ;)
Photographer/Model
During my trip for the past 2 weeks, I was exploring into great depth about photography.
And the reason of this entry was inspired by none other - Kester. He just wrote in my friendster testimonial about me posing once in every 50 of my pictures. I dunno shld I treat that as a compliment or what. lol.
Is either he is trying to say I'm taking a picture of myself once out of 50 pictures that I take, or I HAVE to take a picture of myself for every 50 pictures i take. I dun think u guys see the difference in what I say. But generally, I'm not being vain lah. People complaint I take too much picture of things other than myself, so bo bian, I have to somehow show people how I look like, at least once a while lah... Moreover, this pretty face here is worth every second of ya time viewing. =p Besides, I dun even show my personal modeling portfolios to modeling agencies, so u guyz betta count yaself luckie seeing mi.
Ok, as i was saying earlier on. I was actually trying to find out what is needed to take good pictures. My passion for photography started when I realized I have the gift of conceptualising phots, maybe is because I came from a designing background. U all dunno write, I use to be a book prize winner for D&T when i was in sec skol. Ok, serious stuff... U need to have the eye for details, thats very impt. n u muz be able to find the right angel for the right frame n the right position. Then when ur more experience, u start to play with lighting and the shuttle.
But later did I realize that, to take a good picture, u need to have a calm n peaceful mind, and the most impt thing is TIME. Time must be on your side. Relax, and njoy the pix taking session. I realize lotsa pple juz wanna tke lotsa pix of everything, everybody and everywhere. I would term these people as people who wanna capture the moment.
U noe what is the best way of capturing the moment? Is not by means of ya camera...it is what is up in ya head - MEMORY. Thats the best tool to capture moments. N i certainly have a good tool to capture beautiful memories as well.
And do you really know what is really needed to take good pix...
AN SLR...I'm starting a innoc3nt's SLR fund for my 2007 bdae, so if any kind and generous soul out there, please do what you can to support this cause. It is definitely very worth it. The pix for viet, philippines and euro that u will see in this blog totally depends on u....
Life as a prisoner
I missed my unit's mobilisation last month. Everyone say is ok becoz im overseas, but the thing is, I never apply for an exit permit. Argh, everytime i get out of Singapore, even when it is only a day trip, i apply for exit permit, but i totally 4got about this. Argh....
Now I may get put into DB. And get decommission as an officer....
K, i'm not thinking about this now. My buddy just checked for me, and he assured me is ok. I hope it is. Damn, this is definitely life's precious lesson. And it will be the stupidest way to get into DB.
Just like a dream experience, whatever things I enjoy will become a memory. Whatever is past will not be seen again.
True Australian Ghost Story
This story happened a while ago in Brisbane, and even though it sounds like an Alfred Hitchcock tale, it's true. John Bradford, a Sydney University student, was on the side of the road hitch hiking on a very dark night and in the midst of a storm. The night was rolling on and no car went by. The storm was so strong he could hardly see a few feet ahead of him.
Suddenly he saw a car slowly coming towards him and stopped. John, desperate for shelter and without thinking about it, got in the car and closed the door, just to realize there was nobody behind the wheel and the engine wasn't on! The car started moving slowly. John looked at the road and saw a curve approaching. Scared, he started to pray, begging for his life. Then, just before he hit the curve, a hand appeared through the window and turned the wheel. John, paralysed with terror, watched how the hand appeared every time they came to a curve. John saw the lights of a pub down the road so, gathering strength, jumped out of the car and ran to it. Wet and out of breath, he rushed inside and asked for two shots of tequila. He then started telling everybody about the horrible experience he went through. A silence enveloped everybody when they realized he was crying and....wasn't drunk.
About 15 minutes later, two guys walked into the same pub. They were also wet and out of breath. Looking around and seeing John Bradford sobbing at the bar, one said to the other,
"Look, Bruce..here's the F*cking idiot that got in the car while we were pushing it."
The greatest love of all....
Picture this scenario: The whole day long, the kids are driving you up the wall with their endless demands. They will not do as you tell them; and you are about to catch them by their necks and throttle them! Then, when they are fast asleep at night, you look at their innocent faces in sweet repose - and you forgive them anything!
Being a mother has brought out the best and worst in me. I never imagine I can feel such unconditional love until I became a parent. Previously when anyone said that parents, especially mothers, will still love their children even if they have committed murder, I told myself - "Huh ¡ wait till you become a parent!" Now, I can see the truth in the statement.
My sons, Dhany and Rudi had come home from school with grades that you don't want to tell anyone about. And I would make it clear that I was disappointed with their grades and not them. They had brought the police round to my home countless times by the noise from their electric guitars and out-of-tune singing. Back then, I was furious each time I came home from work to see the police patrol car at my doorstep Yet, now when I think back, I do not feel one bit of anger, if anything, it is with some amusement.. But, I am still angry with the neighbour who called the police on them. She had complained about our other neighbours too.
Gmail has a sending limit...argh
Are there limits for sending mail?
Gmail has a number of sending limits in place to prevent abuse of our system, and to help fight spam. If you reach one of Gmail's limits, you'll be temporarily unable to send mail. This limit is generally removed within 24 hours. If you're still unable to send after 24 hours of inactivity, please contact us and we'll investigate further.
Common causes include:
Sending a message to more than 500 recipients.
You can send a single message to a maximum of 500 recipients through the web interface, or up to 100 recipients when using POP access. Their email addresses can be distributed among the To, Cc, and Bcc fields. If you communicate with the same group of people on a regular basis, you might be interested in Google Groups.
Sending a large number of undeliverable messages.
We suggest verifying your contacts' email addresses. Make sure the email addresses you're sending mail to are valid. It's also important that everyone you are sending mail to is willing to receive it.
I send to 1000 peopel. and I can no longer send email for 24hours. DAMNIT!!!
I just weigh myself, and I lost 10kg for the entire 2006. 2007 will be a year where i will seek to put on sufficient weight, right now, i think I should be underweight liao.
Fret not, I have been through all kinda phases la, with tummy, with bones, and juz nice. I'm confident of getting back to my original size n mass. Errr, this is more for like my mum. She will be, u betta eat more. lol.
Dun worrie, if i got chance, i wld definitely eat more than less. Gone with the days that I feast on practically anything and everything. But one year away from singaland makes me miss the food so much, I will never take for granted a plate of chicken rice, nasi lemak or even a bowl of mee pok ta....
I'm not a fussy eater, but I allwaiz complained the lack of variety ard skol in sg. But I have already planned where to eat and will never get bored. hahaha....
Ultimo Domingo en Mexico
Last Sunday in Mexico is defintely a quiet but nice one. It is not often you see clear blue sky with sun shining on you in Mexico City, but the sun is shining so brightly, and I just love it. Especially when temp is at 8 degrees.
Gonna miss this place big time. The food, the drinks, my frenz and latinas of course.
I'm 3/4 done with my packing thou I still have 4 more days to go, hahaha, I dunno why I so anxious in packing up also, maybe is because, I wanna make sure I have everything that I want to bring back. I hope I did not leave anything behind, other than footprints.
Will try to do a concluding entry on the day before my departure when I think my innermost feelings will be most cleared....
Still rushing my last essay...argh...
My Yucatan, Belize, Guatemala and Chiapas Trip
I have organised this entry according to how I travelled. It is one of the recommended routes that was in lonely planet. The book is a saviour for many many things.
Chichen Itza, Mexico
It was like the most impressive ruins that I have ever seen. It was really great design and the settings was just so perfect. I can really imagine in those mayan times. This is a MUST GO place in Mexico. Definitely 2 tumbs and 10 toes up.
Valladolid, Mexico
It was the cenote that I was interested in, so I pulled Damian to go with me. It was like what it was in the pictures. Unfortunately, it was only nice in the pictures, the rest are not really very nice. But then again, it is unique. And saw a jap babe swimming in the cenote, so i guess the trip was really worth it. And back in some of the ulu ulu tunnels, one couple is scandalously making out, we even got them to take a picture of us, bcoz of the nice romantic tunnel that was lighted with a bulb, plus my fren n i, it will b 3 bulbs. lol.
In Vallodolid, we tried yucatan cusine, which was completely different from that of mexican food. It was really a great choice. After u tried it, u will never want to go back to Mexican food.
Isla Cozumel, Mexico
Can u believe it, I was on this island on the 2nd nite. Pretty amazing rite? Mad rush... This is a small island about an hour off mexico near cancun area.
At the jetty in the mainland, it is how American. Even the price are in US. Everyone is American. Selling fries n pop corns, i hate touristy places....
Went for 2 tank dive. I would say it is amazing, but the visibility was just marvellous, I can see like 50m. Saw sea turtles, lobster, moray eels, n lotsa big fishes. When the water is blue n clear, diving is almost perfect, but the reefs are like quite damage, my buddy diver is like fining on the corals, gosh. no wonder they are so damaged. The divers gonna hate me for this, but yes, I ate lobster for dinner. Gosh, it is so good, I'm sorry, I know fishes are friends and not food. During my dive, i had a tok with them, they say they rather i eat them then others, so i took the liberty to quickly feast on one b4 anyone else were to lay their mouth on it.
Afternoon chilling on the beach, with tacos in salsa with mojito along the clear blue beach, is simply amazing. I can never ask for more than these. After 4 hours in the sun, there was no sun burnt, despite me only applying sun block once and swimming for an hour in the waves. This is juz so goood.... Tulum Ruins, Mexico
U won't believe this, the ruins open at 8am and we were there at 7.30am. This is insane, if anyone of u have a map, there is no way we can reach tulum from Isla Cozumel, at the given time. We took the first ferry at 5, get the first bus, this is so crazie. ANd when we were there, they refuse to let us in, even though we pleaded for so long. Usually Mexicans veri chim chai one, dunno why this guy is so anal. Anyway, we smuggled in and had the whole ruins to ourselves. Seeing the ruins beside the sea is juz so dreamy. Is like a castle by the sea. And it is beside the caribean water, how nice. Blue sky, white sand, blue water, and nice ruins. The setting is just perfect. N to top it off, there is absolutely no tourist, what else could prove betta than this...awwwwwww Tulum-Belize City
The ride was crazie. We need to get the Belize City b4 5.30pm to catch our last boat to Caye Caulker, despite the mad rush, we didnt catch it. Mainly is because the transport in Belize is really slow. But it was really unique seeing Belize at the first glance. Everyone is black, as I believe they are african slaves that are brought to belize in the past. Neverthless, it was just so funny being the 2 white people on the bus. And we have to make do with a cannot mke it place for the nite, but the dinner was undoubtedly marvellous. Please try belizean food once in your life, i gurantee u will not regret it. Belize is the only country in the whole of latin american that has english as their official language.
Caye Caulker, Belize
A small island (even smaller than ubin) 1 hr off belize. It is really small, and it is quite touristy, this time is filled with bugetted pple, not meant for the rich, but it was still so amazing. Wanted to dive in the Blue Hole but was a wooping 200US$ for a 3 tank dive. Didnt want to waste that kinda $$$, will come back another day, i promise.
I opted snorkelling instead. It was just as good as diving. Swam n feed the sting rays n sharks. U wont believe how big the sting rays were. Nurse sharks are swimming around us. Like how Jen put it, everyone needs a hug, and so I decided to give one of the ray a great human hug...
Saw this fisherman and asked him how they eat the hermit crab. He just took it out. Cut out the parts, and gave it to us to eat LIVE. Gosh, it was so so so good. So fresh that u feel as if they are swimming. The shell looks amazing.
The divers will hate me more this time, I tried Barracuda Steak. Not that I have a choice, there are only 2 menus that nite, one was lobster and it was off season so the lobster are smaller, and i shouldnt eat it bcoz is off season. and the other was barracuda, like i say, i have no choice, all in the name of survival for that nite. It taste like normal fish, just that it has more bones, but overall nt as good as it sounds or looks.
I can really picture myself staying here for a few months simply by lazing around. This place is so small n so relax, i will definitely cum bac, esp for my blue hole dive.
El Remate, Guatemala
It was a quite town, thank god it was quite. Travelled with 2 french guys that we met in Belize. It was quite a fast journey from Belize to guatemala, only 4hours. And we arrive quite earlie, n on time to have our lunch. One just cannot ignore the beautiful view that this small town offers. Everything in Guatemala is cheap, and is 10 times betta than Mexico, even the people. And not to mention the babes. lol... Tikal, Guatemala
I think I am not impressed as much because I saw Chichen Itza and secondly it is in the midst of a rain forrest, given that I have been to ang kor wat and was in the military for 2.5yrs. The others was quite impressed with it. Other than the pyramids build above the canopy and u literally see the clouds floating by at ridiculously fast pace, it will b quite dull. Was told that we need one day to complete, but we compeleted everything in great detail in 4 hours, it was only 10 when we finished. Flores/Santa Elena, Guatemala
We were arguing if we shld take a nite bus, there were afraid as they were told there are lotsa armed robberies on nite buses, and then they choose to tke the most expensive ones, which i think it is even worst, u attract more attention. Anyway, we settle for the most expensive, but it was still considered cheap according to mexican standard. But the services are way betta.
We took a boat trip around this city and saw many interesting n great sites. This city is really small and it was really worth a few hours there to just visit this city.
Antigua, Guatemala
Reached guatemala city and it was a touch and go because it is supposedly a robbing place and nothing much to see. Antigua was magical. Nice colonial buildings with a very good mix of crowd and the products that people are selling. We went for a volcano trekking, and it was great seeing the frozen lava, and there were live lava under the frozen one. It was so cool. Seeing the sun set at the volcano. It was so cold up there, but bcoz we were on the frozen lava, there was heat given out, so it acts like a heater for us which was prettie nice. :) Atitlan, Guatemala
U won't believe this, took a nite cab to atitlan on a 2 hours journey, in hope to catch the sunrise in the morning. Mad rush again... no one does anything in guatemala after 7pm becoz is it so dark n dangerous, but we went on with the plan. Woke up early and catch moon set n run rise by the lake, it was so amazing, only when u see it, then u will know what i mean by amazing.
Guatemala-Mexico
Took like 4 chicken buses to get from Gua-Mex. It is a must to try take the chicken bus as you will see how pple squeeze, and how they work, it was just so funny and amazing, the conductor will b left to catch the bus and does the climbing on top of the bus while it is driving to tke our luggage or to tie it down. Once, half way on the trip, the guy just came in from the back, and we wondered where the hell he cum from. So chicken bus is a must in Guatemala. And it is ridiculously cheap.
Palenque Ruins, Mexico
I thot this ruin was quite good, but the french guys think otherwise, they felt Tikal was betta. But like I say, it is different, u cannot compare like that. At the end of the day, it is still the ruin. Though I have seen so many already.Agua Azul, Mexico
There are suppose to be blue water everywhere here, but due to the past 2 weeks of rain, the water turned brown instead. Sian diaoz. But nevertheless, I think if it was blue, there will be more people there. Just imagine the water in the picture is blue, how nice.Yachilan and Bonampak, Mexico
It was a boat ride to Yachilan, and the ride just reminds me of the torturing 6 hours boat ride I did in Laos, nv gonna 4get abt that. Anyway, the ruins (again) was not too bad. There were howling monkeys around, they sound like dinosaurs as their voice was so loud, u can hear them from anywhere.
Bonampal only has a small ruin, but if u want me to compare it with the rest, it is nothing, but alone, it is quite special and nice.
Completed all my trip 4 days in advance and been to 2 more extra places, I think the french are just used to traveling at such hasty pace that will not be able to get back to their light n relax paced. Made frenz from france where I will visit them in 2007. They are greg n miloud. And partially why im back so early is bcoz my resources are almost totally exhausted. The whole trip was worth every penny. Yeah, more pictures will be uploaded in my photo website.
How latex gloves are made
A dentist noticed that his next patient, an elderly lady, was looking very nervous so he decided to tell her a little joke as he put on his gloves.
"Do you know how they make these gloves?"he asked.
"No, I don't," she replied.
"Well," he spoofed, "there's a building in China with a big tank of latex. Workers of all hand sizes walk up to the tank, dip in their hands, let them dry, then peel off the gloves and throw them into boxes of the right size."
She didn't crack a smile.
"Oh well, I tried," he thought.
But five minutes later, during a delicate portion of the dental procedure, she burst out laughing.
"What's so funny?" he asked.
"I was just picturing how they make condoms !" she said.
Gotta watch those little old ladies! Their minds are always working
Onions and Christmas Trees
A family is at the dinner table. The son asks his father,
Dad, how many kinds of boobies are there?
The father, surprised, answers, "Well, son, there's three kinds of breasts. In her twenties, a women's breasts are like melons,round and firm. In her thirties to forties, they are like pears, still nice but hanging a bit. After fifty, they are like onions."
Onions?"
Yes, you see them and they make you cry."
This infuriated his wife and daughter so the daughter said,
Mum, how many kinds of 'willies' are there?"
The mother, surprised, smiles and answers, "Well dear, a man goes through three phases. In his twenties, his willy is like
An oak tree, mighty and hard. In his thirties and forties, it is a birch, flexible but reliable. After his fifties, it is like a Christmas tree."
A Christmas tree?"
Yes, dead from the root up and the balls are for decoration only.
