Manila, Philippines

My first unforgetable experience in Manila started when I landed in the airport. It was really funny, I thot I landed in Clark Airport (domestic airport) but I actually landed in their International Airport, so I was looking for the bus which I researched on that would leave Clark airport at that time but couldn't find, and I thot the everything I researched for was wrong. But in fact, I only realized that the airport that I landed is not Clark Airport 3-4 days after I arrived, how stupid can that be? And I thot I would have enough experience not to overlook details like that.

First impression of Manila was quite cosmopolitan. It is quite developed I must say, and people couldn't help but to give you that kind of stare, bcoz u dun exactly look the same like them. :) The hostel which I stayed in was really good and I would recommend it to everyone. It is called friendly hostel. And their pricing is really rock bottom for a prime location.

My first great impression was formed when I was looking for lunch. The food was ridiculously cheap as compared to sg standards. Especially the fast food. I usually spend a dollar or less for a meal. And it is really nice. There are alot a zillion kinda different fast food outlets and the food is really really sinful, but it is really worth sinning. =p

I think there are really limited places of interest in Manila, so to sum it all up, Intramuros and CCP centre which can be covered a day each. And other interesting place would be their shopping malls where u see it triple the size of vivocity.

One of the most captivating scene would be the sunset in the manila bay. The image is really worth waiting for.

Took a walk to Chinatown and saw how the children live their childhood. Engaging in so many "fun" activities which I so envy and wished I would have the chance to do it when I was younger. I took some pictures of the kids jumping off the bridge and one even climbed up to the top of the frame of the bridge and jumped down from it. At their age, the things they do, really impressed me. hahaha, obviously if this were to be in sg, it wld scare the shit out of the parents.

Meet all my friends in Manila. Got to spend quite good quality time with Rae catching up with the SIF days. Below is the pict of rae and myself.

This is a picture of the last night in Philippines. Taken with all the pinoy fellows in Manila.
Nice seafood dinner served and picture with Mr B and her beau. lol.
Overall, I think Philippines is pretty much the same as Mexico in the sense of the infrastructure as well as the economy system. Most of the rich people are really rich and the poor are dead poor. Tonnes of people living on the streets and u actually smell urine and shit all around. But generally, it is also safe to travel around, just make sure you dun do stupid things, and u will be safe.
